How To Install Oblivion Script Extender Steam
1st) I've looked in the Program Files folder, found the part with Oblivion in it, and tried that. No dice; Oblivion.exe isn't in there.
2nd) When I went to data files after initiating the game, I found that my Oblivion.esm WASN'T checked, even though the game was still working with that unchecked. Whether that has anything to do with me not being able to find Oblivion.exe I dunno, but I figured it was worth mentioning.
The main point is, does ANYONE know where to find the file Oblivion.exe? Which folder, perhaps?
Thanks.
How to Install OBSE for Oblivion by loader ยป Sun Jun 12, 2011 10:14 am OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) is an essential plugin for a large number of the mods for the Elder Scrolls Oblivion game. The Oblivion Script Extender, or OBSE for short, is a modder's resource that expands the scripting capabilities of Oblivion. It doesn't make any modifications to oblivion.exe, TESConstructionSet.exe, or any other files in your oblivion install, so don't worry about permanent side effects.
OK, so I'm not understanding at all what they mean by 'For Oblivion (Steam version) players: You have to activate 'Script Extender' as the load mechanism and unfortunately you can't start the game from inside MO. Use MO to configure your mods, then quit and start Oblivion through Steam like you would without MO.' I set MO to OBSE with the little dropdown next to the Run button, and then start the game through steam and literally non of the mods work. I figure I am misunderstanding what they mean here. Can some explain in more detail what needs to be done for MO to work with Oblivion?

Oblivion Streamline
- OBSE will not work if this setting is not enabled: Steam > Settings > In-Game > Check the box marked 'Enable steam community in-game'. Download Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE) to the Oblivion folder Extract it there.
- Ensure you have enabled the Steam community in-game, or OBSE will fail to load. Go to Steam > Settings > In-Game and check the box marked 'Enable Steam Community In-Game'. Launch Oblivion via Steam or by running Oblivion.exe. OBSE will automatically be run along with Oblivion when launched. To disable this, rename or move obse_steam_loader.dll.
